Maj. Gen Ted Willmott CB OBE (Chairman)
Following a distinguished career with the British Army, Ted was chief executive of the Construction Industry Training Board from 1990 – 1998. In 2004 he became Master Engineer of the Livery of the City of London. A former Chair of Herefordshire Primary Care Trust NHS, he was, until recently, an Independent Special Adviser to the Healthcare Purchasing Consortium NHS.
Jonathan Bretherton (Chief Executive)
A chartered surveyor with a pedigree and track record in major redevelopment schemes with Young Group plc, the Banks Group and the Greenbelt Group. Formerly deputy chief executive of Sunderland arc Urban Regeneration Company where he led a variety of teams in developing projects in excess of £500M. A member of the RICS Regeneration Policy Panel and the editorial panel of Journal of Urban Design and Planning.
Chris Bull
Chris is chief executive of Herefordshire Council and Herefordshire Primary Care Trust – the first in the country to lead both organisations.
John Garbutt
John is marketing director of Kingspan Insulation Ltd, based in Pembridge. He is widely respected for his technical expertise in the fields of building physics, energy efficiency and sustainability.
Charles Ingleby
Charles is a Chartered Surveyor and partner of Ingleby, Trice, Kennard in London, specialising in investment and development. Major projects include many site assemblies and redevelopments in London, including Spitalfields and the revitalisation of St Katharine Docks.
Christine Jones
Christine is a former director of the British Chamber of Commerce, Business Link CEO representing AWM Enterprise Board; a director of the Rural Regeneration Zone Board and Transforming Telford Shadow Board; chair of the Race Equality partnership in Herefordshire and a board member of both Herefordshire and Worcestershire Partnerships. She is currently a board member and previous chair of Malvern Hills Science Park, Director of Central Technology and a governor of University of Worcester.
Glenn Jones
Glenn is managing director of Pearl Lake Leisure Park, a national award winning holiday and leisure park in Shobdon. A former director of the Association for the Promotion of Herefordshire, and board member of Visit Herefordshire, he brings extensive leisure and tourism experience to ESG.
Keith Lawton
Keith has developed a distinguished career in international telecommunications and has successfully led a number of complex change programmes within the broadband industry. He is also chair of the governing body at the Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School and church warden at St Nicholas’ Church, Sutton St Nicholas, Hereford.
Andrew Marson
Andrew is a former head teacher of The Bishop of Hereford’s Bluecoat School and represents ESG on the Higher Education for Herefordshire Management Group. His role is to develop collaborative higher education opportunities in Hereford and champion the cause of those with disabilities to the development planners, as chairman of the Herefordshire Lifestyles charity.
Robert Maskrey
Robert has developed Maskreys Ltd, the leading modern furniture company in Wales and the West, whilst pursuing other international business interest in wholesale furniture, fabrics and design. He is a Patron of Shelter Cymru and a board member of the Malvern Theatres Trust.
Mark Pearce
Mark joined Advantage West Midlands, the Regional Development Agency at its inception in 1998 and in 2007 was promoted to Corporate Director for Economic Regeneration. He has been involved in the ESG redevelopment since the first discussions with Herefordshire Council.
Councillor Roger Phillips
Roger was elected to Herefordshire Council in 1997 and became the Leader in 2003. He is a board member of the Local Government Employers’ Organisation, AWM and the West Midlands Regional Assembly.
